When to Watch Wildlife

When to Watch Wildlife is a month by month guide to the wildlife highlights around Britain.

Visit my blog: http://wildlifewanderings.blogspot.com/ for a personal, wildlife journal

Wildlife in February:
This month look out for:
« Birds visiting the bird table & hanging feeders
« Over wintering birds on our estuaries & inland waters
« Thrushes, robins and great tits singing for territories
« Frogs spawn in ponds

See more wildlife sightings
&
nature notes from around Britain...

« Hazel catkins opening out

In February the first primroses can appear if the weather is kind.

Male catkins of the hazel expand to look like lambs tails as they shed their pollen to the wind

On the When to Watch Wildlife site you can find information on individual species of plant or animal, or whole groups such as 'birds'.  Visit the Current Highlight page to see what is happening near you, or go to the WWW links page for other wildlife related and recommended web sites.

See our nature notes for what's where.  Also on our site, you'll find lots of great stuff about natural history, plus links to wildlife blogs and other fab sites across the web (check out the website of the month below). So enjoy what's on offer here, then get out and explore life beyond your computer.
