Wildlife webcams

If you wish to get started with your own webcam, why not put up a bird box and install a camera to watch the nesting season in your own back garden?  For advice go to the following site: www.beautifulbritain.co.uk.

Please feel free to report great wildlife webcams to us at info@whentowatchwildlife.org and we might include them on this page.  Also, if you find that one of our chosen sites has stopped streaming their webcam then we would be grateful if you could tell us...thanks.

Some of these webcams are turned off during the night or at dusk and dawn.

• Andrew Coopers site has a number of webcams watching badgers, birds and even a water but all on his Church Farm (last checked 15/10/10)

• The RSPB webcams provide snapshots of a number of their bird feeders (last checked 15/10/10)

• UKGardenWildife have a webcam watching a bird table (last checked 15/10/10).

• Cambridge University nesting swifts - live pictures of nesting swifts when they return in May 2011.(last checked 15/04/11)

• Nature Watch - Webcams setup in nest boxes, a bird bath, mealworm feeder and seed feeder, recording all of the action from a regular household garden in Essex. (last checked 15/04/11).

• Derby Cathedral peregrine webcam (last checked 15/04/11) and  blog

• Nottingham Trent University peregrine falcon webcam - make sure that you double click on the webcam image to see the nest (last checked 27/04/11)

• Beds Garden Wildlife provides a 24 hour experience - you never quite know what you might see. (last checked 14/02/11).

• Catherine's Nest Box Webcams - webcams focused in and on a number of nest boxes in a garden in Essex. (last checked 21/02/11)

• The i-Catcher console site is a great resource when available: bird table 1, bird table 2 (see images below), owlcam, and roofcam (for perching owls) webcams - high quality cameras by dedicated bird lovers.  Be patient with the controls (last checked 15/04/11).
